This mix of 70% bamboo and 30% organic cotton gives these t-shirts an ultra soft feel – if you’ve never tried one, we highly recommend it.
As well as black and white, these t-shirts are available in Atlantic Blue and Atlantic Grey – we think these colours reflect well the hues you can see in those deep atlantic waters.
These t-shirts are not only soft, the bamboo has some other great characteristics – the fibres are strong and they have anti-bacterial properties – see the Fabrics section below for other bamboo bonuses.

The clothes industry is a particularly dirty industry – we’re trying to do things in a better way!
None of our clothes contain polyester, nylon, or any other unsustainable man-made fibres, ensuring that micro plastics don’t end up in the sea. But that’s just the start. Below is a list of credentials that this product adheres to:
Organic Content Standard
The “Organic Content Standard – Blended” (OCS) certifies that part of the material used in this fabric is organic. In this case 30% of the fabric is cotton and is certified as organic. But what about the 70% bamboo? Bamboo natually doesn’t require pesticides or other polluting chemicals – if you’ve ever grown it in your garden, you’ll know that it grows like a weed! It should be noted, however, that bamboo viscose does use a lot of chemicals to process it into fibres, which is why we only use bamboo fabric that has been certified by the OEKO-TEX 100 standard (see below).
Click the OCS logo to find out more about their certification process.
Fair Wear Standard
The Fair Wear Foundation is a non-profit organisation with the mission to “see a world where the garment industry supports workers in realising their rights to safe, dignified, properly paid employment”. The manufacturer of this product is certified to the Fair Wear standard. Click on the Fair Wear logo below for more detailed information.
OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100
The Standard 100 certification ensures that every part of the garment has been tested for substances that may be harmful to human health. Garments are tested by independent institutes against an extensive criteria catalog, taking into account both regulated and non-regulated substances. Further details can be found by clicking on the OEKO-TEX logo below.
"I first went to sea when I was a young child. My heart never left" - Scott Roberts, founder of Of the Oceans.
Eco-friendly: Of the Oceans is, you guessed it, committed to healthy oceans. The brand is plastic-free and uses materials such as hemp, GOTS-certified organic cotton, bamboo and wool.
The fabrics are dyed in a zero-discharge dyehouse, where all the water is recycled in a closed-loop system.
Fair production: The clothes are made in factories that have either been assessed as a leader by the Fair Wear Foundation or that carry a Fairtrade certificate.
Good cause: 5% of every purchase is donated to marine conservation charities.
