Citric Acid Anhydrate is therefore also known as the ‘anhydrous Citric Acid’. This anhydrous Citric Acid has a purity of more than 99% and is often used in food products.

Citric acid is an organic acid that occurs naturally in citrus fruits such as orange, lemon, mandarin and lime. In lemons and limes, citric acid makes up about 8% of the whole. But this acid is also found in other foods such as berries and some vegetables such as lettuce and tomato.

As a cleaning agent

Citric acid kills bacteria and fungi, making it an excellent way to clean and disinfect all kinds of things. It also works effectively in removing soap scum, hard water stains, limescale, limescale, and rust.

As a preservative

Citric acid is a natural antioxidant that is often found in soaps, conditioners, shampoos, and skin and hair care products. This is often combined with potassium sorbate. Together, they form a powerful preservative.

As a pH regulator

Citric acid is widely used to adjust the pH (acidity) of a formulation. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14. A pH of less than 7 is acidic, a pH of 7 is neutral, and a pH higher than 7 is basic/alkaline. By adjusting the acidity, unwanted bacteria in various products can be avoided.
